ROARING GOOD FUN: PALS Families Enjoy a Wild Day at Marwell Zoo with the Lions

23 June 2025

Families from West Berkshire's PALS (Partners for Active Leisure Scheme) enjoyed an unforgettable day out at Marwell Zoo on 22 June 2025, thanks to the sponsorship of the Newbury Lions Club.

The sun shone down as excited children and their families explored the zoo, spotting majestic tigers, towering giraffes, and mighty rhinos along the way. The event, part of a wider initiative organised by Lions Clubs across the South of England, brought together families for a fun-filled, inclusive day of discovery and delight.

One of the highlights of the day was the Secret Garden Challenge. Those lucky (and clever!) enough to find the Lions’ secret hideaway were rewarded with a cuddly soft toy lion to take home as a special souvenir.

But the excitement didn’t stop there. The day was bursting with activities, including face painting, games, and of course, plenty of time to explore the zoo’s incredible enclosures and exhibits.

With smiles all around, it was clear that the day was a roaring success!
